Kansas City-area voters rejected the extension of a sales tax to fund stadium projects for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and MLB’s Royals, raising the risk that the teams will follow through on threats to leave the city. The tax under consideration in Jackson County, Missouri’s election on Tuesday would have raised more than $2 billion over 40 years.
