Vaccine Mandate for Businesses Moved to January 4th

Summary from the AllSides News Team

On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that vaccine mandates for businesses with 100 or more employees, certain health care workers and federal contractors will not take effect until January 4, alleviating concerns about worker shortages if mandates were enforced before the holidays.

The mandate stipulates that employees of those groups will need to be fully vaccinated with the necessary shots from Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson by January 4th.  Businesses can also choose to make regular testing and mask wearing an option, but they are required to provide paid time off to workers to get vaccinated and to provide paid leave for employees who need to recover from side effects.
