People suffering from a loss of smell after a COVID infection may soon find relief — but only if they aren’t afraid of taking a needle to their throat.

Up to 60% of people who became ill with COVID either have lost their sense of smell or suffered changes to it, a condition called parosmia, according to a report from over the summer.
