The sun was out but the air and water temperature were only 41 degrees when a record 4,380 people ran into the Atlantic Ocean at Rehoboth Beach Sunday. The bone-chilling dive was for the 2024 Polar Bear Plunge. The annual event is a fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Delaware. The weekend of events began on Saturday with a 5K walk/run race on the boardwalk.
