Independent Review Moves Variety from Center to Lean Left

An independent review of Variety conducted by Editor-in-chief Henry A. Brechter (Center bias) in July 2023 moved Variety's rating from Center to Lean Left.

The review noted that Variety mostly focuses on nonpartisan entertainment news, but that when given the opportunity, the outlet focuses on political issues with a left-leaning slant, and frames conservative causes in a negative light. The review also noted that our audience strongly disagreed with Variety's rating of Center, with the majority of audience members rating it as Lean Left when voting.
