The federal government formally ended its crisis response to a pandemic that has killed more than 1.1 million people in the U.S. and infected many millions more. Much of the country has moved on from the Covid-19 pandemic. Deaths have declined by 95%, and hospitalizations are down nearly 91% since January 2021.
