Astros veteran ace Justin Verlander will make his season debut in Friday’s series opener at Washington, manager Joe Espada confirmed Wednesday. Right-handers Ronel Blanco and Cristian Javier will follow Verlander in the three-game series against the Nationals. Verlander started the season on the injured list while recovering from an offseason shoulder issue. The 41-year-old righty threw a bullpen session Tuesday.
