College hockey has $1.2 million impact

SPRINGFIELD — With more than 11,000 tickets sold, last month’s NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey regional generated an estimated $1.2 million for the local economy. More than 500 Springfield hotel rooms in Springfield were booked and filled during the tournament March 28 and 30, MassMutual Center management said Tuesday in a statement.
