Nick Pellegrino threw a complete game with seven strikeouts, three walks, eight hits, and two earned runs to lead Union Catholic to an 8-3 win over Scotch Plains-Fanwood, in Scotch Plains.
Gregory Viloria recorded a triple and two RBI for the Vikings (1-0).
Joe LaRosa went 2-for-4 for the Raiders while Jaden Carpien finished 3-for-4 with two RBI.
