Alan Reed, a longtime photojournalist at Seattle’s KING 5, died March 24 of natural causes. He was 63. Instantly recognizable by his wide smile, white hair and bulky camera propped on one shoulder, Reed was the eye behind the lens seemingly recording every sporting event in Washington. He had two stints at KING 5, the most recent hire in April 2002. The station typically rotated an average of three photojournalists to cover news and sports assignments.
