Hofstra softball falls to No. 1 Oklahoma in NCAA regional opener

The Hofstra softball team could not have drawn a tougher first-round opponent. On Friday, the Pride faced Oklahoma, the two-time defending national champions, in an opening-round regional in Norman, Oklahoma. The top-ranked Sooners run-ruled Hofstra, 11-0, in five innings. Hofstra (29-26) will play either California or Missouri on Saturday in an elimination game. Alanna Morse had Hofstra’s only hit with a leadoff double in the third inning.
