A federal judge agreed to a government proposal that would make the Plan B emergency-contraceptive pill available in drugstores without age or other restrictions.
On Monday the Justice Department proposed a plan that would require Plan B manufacturers to seek approval from the Food and Drug Administration to sell the pill without a prescription to anyone regardless of age. The FDA asked Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., TEVA +0.47% the maker of Plan B One-Step, to resubmit an application to the agency and pledged to give the application a speedy review.
