In the Globe poll, 33 percent of those surveyed said they were somewhat (18 percent) or very (15 percent) dissatisfied with the availability of primary care physicians when making an appointment. The number rose to 37 percent when respondents were polled on the availability of specialists. The two problems are closely linked: The lack of available primary care providers and low reimbursement rates have increased pressure on primary care doctors to keep patient visits no longer than 10 to 15 minutes.
