Money to hire more city employees in draft Oceanside budget

Oceanside got its first look at its 2024-25 budget Wednesday, and there’s plenty of black ink. The city has money to hire as many as nine additional employees to oversee programs such as services for the homeless, environmental sustainability, transportation coordination, and maintenance of the municipal vehicle fleet, Financial Services Director Jill Moya told the Oceanside City Council. “We are always keeping in mind the City Council’s strategic priorities when considering budget recommendations,” Moya said. “The homelessness situation in Oceanside continues to pose a challenge, necessitating immediate and focused intervention,”...
