Jersey City’s Alan Vera finishes Olympic Wrestling Trials one win short of berth in Paris

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Jersey City resident Alan Vera qualified the Greco 97 kg weight for the Olympic Games at the Pan-American qualifier, but he won’t be the wrestler taking the trip to Paris to compete. Vera lost the final two matches of a best-of-3 final at the 2024 Olympic Wrestling Trials to Josef Rau on Saturday night as Rau clinched the U.S. berth in Paris.
