'Road diet' idea resurfaces
Apr. 6—HIGH POINT — A new study of N. Main Street looks at the potential of reducing part of it from four to two vehicle lanes. Engineering consultants with Kimley-Horn of Raleigh told a City Council committee this week that one of the alternatives in their assessment examined doing this between Parkway and Church avenues. This would allow for more on-street parking, wider sidewalks and enhanced pedestrian crossings.
