American Greatness bills itself as “the leading voice of the next generation of American Conservatism.” AllSides rates American Greatness as Right in an initial bias rating.

A July 2018 independent review by an AllSides staffer found American Greatness almost always runs pieces with a conservative perspective and never includes pieces with a Left perspective, giving the site a Right bias. Some headlines at the time of review included "The Democrats’ ‘Race Card’ Reign of Terror" and "The American Left Is Racist, Not President Trump."

American Greatness' publisher and editor is Christopher Buskirk, whom AllSides rates as Lean Right. Buskirk is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and is also the co-host of The Buskirk & Graham Show on 960 KKNT. He is also the author of several books.

The Center for American Greatness funds American Greatness. According to DonorsTrust's website, "We – and the conservative- and libertarian-minded donors with whom we work – believe in preserving the ideals of limited government, personal responsibility, and free enterprise."
