College softball: Simpson hits first two college homers; lots of Rowan girls shining

EMORY, Va. — Emory & Henry freshman Karsen Simpson (West Rowan) hit her first two college homers on Friday in the Wasps’ wild doubleheader sweep of South Atlantic Conference opponent Catawba. Simpson homered in each game. She’s batting .395 in 20 games. In both games, Catawba rallied to take the lead in the top of the seventh, only to have Emory & Henry walk off wins in the bottom half.
