Update: Flood advisory for 9 N.J. counties until Saturday night
The National Weather Service issued an updated flood advisory at 8:13 p.m. on Saturday in effect until 11:15 p.m. for Burlington, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties. The weather service states, "Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected." "Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas," explains the weather service. "Don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding."
