State House passes Medicaid expansion bill
Mississippi is one step closer to expanding Medicaid.The State House passed HB 1725 Wednesday with a vote of 96-20. The vote now heads to the State Senate.The legislation is called Healthy Mississippi Works. It would create a plan that would allow Medicaid coverage for people described in the Federal Affordable Care Act.Coverage would include co-payments for non-emergency use of the emergency room, benefit packages, funding of the plan and the timing for approval of the waiver.Click here to see the entire Medicaid bill.
