BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum has declared a statewide emergency in response to the ice storm that brought down power lines that at one point left more than 20,000 homes and businesses without electricity The governor’s office says Burgum plans to seek a presidential disaster declaration that would mean federal reimbursement to help cover the costs to townships, city and county governments, utility companies and electric cooperatives.
