Richmond man shot and killed in city’s first homicide of 2023

RICHMOND — A 43-year-old man was shot and killed here Wednesday morning by a person who fired more than a dozen shots after spotting him in the front of a residence, police say. The victim, identified by authorities as Richmond resident Danny Barnes, was killed at around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, while standing outside a residence on the 2400 block of Aberdeen Way, police said.
