Applications for scholarships will be accepted by the Salute To Our Heroes Foundation Scholarship Fund of Elgin through April 5. Applicants should be veterans or someone with an immediate family member who is a veteran or on active military duty, the organization said. The also must reside in Kane County and be a high school senior, college student or adult entering studies for a degree or trade.
