Donald Trump
Donald Trump is a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. He is running for the Republican nomination.
Trump announced his third consecutive presidential run on November 16, 2022.
Trump served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021 after defeating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016. He ran for reelection in 2020, but was defeated by Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
In the aftermath of the 2020 election, Trump claimed the election results were fraudulent. Attempts to overturn the results through lawsuits in multiple states were unsuccessful.
In April 2023, the Manhattan District Attorney charged Trump with 34 counts of business fraud. Trump pleaded not guilty and believes the charges are a political prosecution.
