SANTA FE — New Mexico might not be the first state to provide free school meals to all K-12 public school students. But Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham insisted Monday, after signing a bill stipulating that free breakfast and lunches be provided on a daily basis, the state’s newest initiative could be the farthest-reaching of its kind in the nation.
