‘Larry the Musical’ puts unsung Filipino American labor rights leader Larry Itliong in the spotlight

The all-Filipino American cast has been showing up to nearly-nightly rehearsals since the end of January energized, fueled by their passion to share the story of one of their forefathers. When Brava Theater is occupied, the cast take their practice next door to the venue’s lofted cabaret space. Packed into the cramped space, with Kana tucked in a corner behind a piano and Romasanta and Pangilinan observing from their seats to the side of the room while Bustamante teaches choreography, patiently working with each actor as they workshop the movements...
