Personal property tax increase proposed

Madison County residents could see a slight increase in their personal property tax bills. Last week, supervisors discussed the proposed fiscal year 2025 budget. Similar to past years, the budget heavily focuses on education and public safety. The $66.1 million budget, of which $33.4 million is in the general fund, utilizes approximately $3 million in fund balance.
