Police have determined that Sunday night's stabbing of a 23-year-old Palestinian-American man near the University of Texas meets the definition of a hate crime. Zacharia Doar was leaving a rally in support of Palestinian human rights when he was allegedly attacked and stabbed in the chest by 36-year-old Bert James Baker, who was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
