Domestic assault leads to arrest of father, son at Hilo home

A father and son were arrested Friday after police executed a search warrant at a Hilo home. Police arrested 32-year-old Waylan Ha‘aheo Silva and his 59-year-old father, Darrell Mark Silva, at their Hilinai Street residence and seized drugs and firearms. During the search of the home, police allegedly recovered an unserialized 9 mm semiautomatic pistol (ghost gun), a .22 caliber Ruger pistol, a .22 caliber Model 622, a .22 caliber Savage Arms Model 101, ammunition, small amounts of cocaine-related paraphernalia and anabolic steroids.
