Hurricane Idalia makes landfall near Keaton Beach

Hurricane Idalia, the first major hurricane to hit Apalachee Bay in recorded history, will make landfall this morning along the Big Bend coast. Tallahassee will not be spared from the storm's fury.
Idalia whipped up into a Category 4 monster Wednesday morning, with maximum sustained winds of 131 mph or higher before landfall.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami upped their forecast for cataclysmic storm surge along the coast south and to the east and west of Tallahassee.
