Reeves signs extended Medicaid coverage for new mothers into law
Mississippians on Medicaid officially have health care coverage for a year after giving birth. Gov. Tate Reeves signed Senate Bill 2212 into law on Thursday, extending postpartum Medicaid coverage from two to 12 months. His signature came after a last-minute endorsement of the bill before a legislative deadline last month. For a year prior, Reeves had not taken a stance on the issue.
