Connecticut Passes Bill to Commit Electoral Votes to Popular Vote Winner

The Connecticut General Assembly voted to join a pact of states who are pledging to commit their Electoral College votes to the national popular vote winner of the presidential election. The agreement will not go into effect unless the compact reaches 270 electoral votes, and with the addition of Connecticut, it now has a total of 172.
