Nickel-sized hail expected with thunderstorms to hit Tuscaloosa County Saturday

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 6:07 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 6:45 p.m. for Tuscaloosa County. Expect nickel-sized hail (0.88 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph. "At 6:06 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over northeastern Tuscaloosa, moving east at 25 mph," according to the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
