Update: Thunderstorms with penny-sized hail and damaging winds in Macon County Saturday

The National Weather Service issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 11:29 a.m. on Saturday valid until 12:15 p.m. for Macon County. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected. "At 11:29 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Liverpool, or near Tuskegee, moving east at 45 mph," says the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees." Locations impacted by the warning include Tuskegee, Franklin, Hardaway, Liverpool, Davisville, Cross Keys, Warriorstand and Fort Davis. The weather service adds, "For your protection move...
