Update: Thunderstorms with penny-sized hail and damaging winds in Macon County Saturday

The National Weather Service issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 11:29 a.m. on Saturday valid until 12:15 p.m. for Macon County. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected. "At 11:29 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Liverpool, or near Tuskegee, moving east at 45 mph," says the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."
