Be prepared for strong thunderstorms in East Central Alabama Saturday morning

The National Weather Service issued a report at 8:07 a.m. on Saturday for strong thunderstorms until 9 a.m. for Calhoun, Cleburne, Talladega and Clay counties. Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph. "At 8:07 a.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Alexandria to 6 miles northeast of Parkdale. Movement was east at 40 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
