U.S. high court denies appeal of reversal of Sterling Heights teen rape convictions

The U.S. Supreme Court has denied Macomb County prosecutors’ effort to appeal a state high court decision that reversed a conviction in a Sterling Heights alleged child-rape case. The nation’s highest court issued the ruling Monday in the case of the People v. Anthony Veach, 43, without comment among the court’s several dozen categorical denials of appeal requests from throughout the country. In a fewer number of cases, the court asked for more records.
