Earthquake Rattled Morris County Thursday

The United States Geological Survey said that an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 took place at 3 p.m. Thursday. The epicenter was about three miles north of Whitehouse Station, in Readington (Hunterdon County). The USGS allows residents to report if they felt an earthquake, and several people in Long Valley reported feeling a weak shaking. Most of the reports were from communities around Hunterdon County, and no residents said they felt anything more than light shaking.
