Ice storm coats much of North Dakota; leads to vehicle crashes, power outages

A holiday ice storm coated roads, driveways and sidewalks with freezing rain in much of the eastern half of North Dakota, shutting down travel and offices and cutting power to thousands of people. Interstate 29 was closed from Grand Forks to the Canada border early Tuesday, and no travel was advised in south central and much of southeastern North Dakota, including the Bismarck-Mandan area. Burleigh County and Morton County closed offices for the day. The city of Mandan closed offices until at least noon. The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library...
