A flash and boom that occurred Monday evening in Minnesota is speculated to have been a passing meteor, according to local authorities. Reports of the incident started at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday, when a loud explosion and bright flash were heard and seen in the sky by Bemidji, Minnesota, residents. Authorities are now investigating what could have caused the flash and explosion, which was loud enough to rattle the windows of some homes, according to a statement from Beltrami County Emergency Management.
