US Embassy in Kyiv Shuttered, As Kremlin Signals It May Be Prepared to Continue Dialogue With West

The State Department on Monday announced the temporary closure of the U.S. Embassy in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and also widened its travel advisory, urging U.S. citizens in neighboring Belarus and Moldova to leave.

At the same time, the Kremlin signaled that Russia may be prepared to continue diplomatic efforts – for now – in its quest for security guarantees from the West that include barring NATO membership to Ukraine.
