CNSNews Right Bias Affirmed in Sept. 2023 Independent Review

An Independent Review by an AllSides editor affirmed CNSNews' Right AllSides Media Bias Rating in Sept. 2023.

CNSNews is open about its bias. Its About page states that CNSNews is a section of MRCTV, which is "designed to broadcast conservative values, culture, and politics; to expose liberal media bias."

The reviewer found that CNSNews' story choice appealed to conservatives, such as articles focusing on professors who lost their jobs for opposing DEI policies, tolerance for free speech on campuses reportedly being down, and news stories focused on concerns over sexually explicit content taught in schools. The news outlet used subjective qualifying adjectives that slanted news content to the right; for example, one headhline read [emphasis ours], Republicans Introduce Four Bills to Rescue Americans’ Retirement Savings from Harmful Effects of Biden’s ESG Rule.
