Update: Thunderstorms with quarter-sized hail and damaging winds to hit Sumter County Saturday

On Saturday at 3:55 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning valid until 4:30 p.m. for Sumter County. Expect quarter-sized hail (1 inch) and wind gusts of up to 60 mph. "At 3:55 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Emelle, or 8 miles northwest of Livingston, moving southeast at 15 mph," says the weather service. "Hail damage to vehicles is expected.
