NY weather: Thunderstorms with penny-sized hail in New York Saturday

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 2:23 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 3:45 p.m. for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben and Schuyler counties. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected. "At 2:22 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Clyde to near Avoca to near Shinglehouse.
