NY weather: Thunderstorms with penny-sized hail and damaging winds in Chautauqua County Saturday

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 1:21 p.m. valid until 2 p.m. for Chautauqua County. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected. "At 1:21 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Lottsville, or 13 miles southwest of Jamestown, moving northeast at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees." Locations impacted by the warning include Jamestown, Lakewood, Falconer, Jamestown West, Frewsburg, Busti, Ellington, Celoron, Panama and Niobe.
