Hurricane season 2024 expected to bring more named storms than ever: NOAA

This year’s Atlantic hurricane system promises to be a doozy, marked by rapid intensification of storms that leave little time to prepare, weather experts said Thursday. A frenzied season fueled by La Niña and ocean temperatures exceeding the average makes for an 85% chance of an above-normal season, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center said Thursday in its annual outlook.
