Allentown to award ‘microgrants’ to youth-led projects addressing climate change

Allentown will award $1,000-$5,000 “micro-grants” to young people leading projects that address climate change. Allentown received funding for the grants through Bloomberg Philanthropies, an organization led by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It’s one of 100 cities across the world, including Accra, Ghana; Glasgow, Scotland; Montego Bay, Jamaica and New Orleans, Louisiana, that received $50,000 through Bloomberg’s Youth Climate Action Fund program. “I’m thrilled that Bloomberg Philanthropies is investing in cities like Allentown to help us empower youth to take action on climate change,” Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk said...
