Jussie Smollett has asked the Illinois Supreme Court to review a recent ruling by an appellate court that upheld the former “Empire” actor’s disorderly conduct conviction. In December 2021, a Cook County jury found the 41-year-old guilty on five counts of disorderly conduct for fabricating a racist and homophobic attack on himself, then lying about it to Chicago police.
