An elected Washington, D.C., official was among six people who were fined by the city this week after voting in the 2020 elections twice. Vanessa Rubio, who was elected as advisory neighborhood commissioner, was fined $500 by the city after voting in the 2020 presidential election in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. The $500 fine was higher than the other perpetrators due to Rubio's status as an elected official. The other people were fined $100 each.
