CHARLESTON — Oak Glen’s Kensington McConnachie won the Class AA girls long jump as the W.Va. State Track and Field championships got underway Friday at Laidley Field The Golden Bears sophomore jumped 17-feet, 2.5 inches. It was nearly six inches further than any other competitor. McConnachie was fifth last year. Oak Glen’s Kami Ward had the top qualifying time in the 100–meter dash with a clocking of 12.3 seconds. Weir’s Mea Kaufman was the fourth fastest qualifier in 12.97.
