Popular Kaimuki bakery to serve final slices of cheesecake

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A long-time Kaimuki bakery known for its cheesecakes will close its doors forever starting on Sunday, May 26. Otto Cake in Kaimuki has been in business since 1996 when owner Otto McDonough opened his first bakery near the Honolulu Airport using his mother’s recipe to create cheesecakes from scratch. “The cheesecakes are different from everybody else’s cheesecakes,” explained Jummy Lake and Rose Serai, disappointed Otto Cake customers. “To me, they were smaller and more flavorful.
